Beach House Tour: Westhampton Beach
Coastal Home Blog
Summer has come to an end and we are reminiscing on our time spent in the Hamptons over the past few months. We decided to dedicate a post to a favorite little house on the bay in Westhampton Beach, NY!
The first bedroom and our favorite is right off the kitchen. Two walls are full of windows making it almost feel like a sunroom with all of the natural light that shines in. The views of the bay are endless and it has it’s own private bathroom. We loved the blue and white striped duvet, the simplistic nature of no clutter and the white wispy curtains. The other bedrooms are similar in style, seemingly decorating with the view in mind. Downstairs is more playful, with a kids bedroom and brighter colors.
The great room upstairs has a wall full of knick knacks that clearly has taken years to collect and a great deal of meaning to the owners, it’s fun, eclectic and bound to be a conversation starter that will go hand in hand with the makeshift bar they’ve created right below. There's no TV upstairs, which we love, it forces you to enjoy the company, play a board game or cook a great meal. It's like going back in time and with a big deck overlooking the beautiful bay who needs a tv anyway?
Of course you need a bar! We love how they've used an old desk/cabinet and turned it into a great makeshift bar. It adds rustic character to the living room and is a fun gathering spot for guests.
The downstairs has three bedrooms, a bathroom, it's own living area and even a sauna to release stress and truly feel like your on vacation. With and white wood coffee table & accent tables, the whole space feels light and airy perfect for just coming in from the beach.
Nautical elements are a key theme throughout the entire house. For the shower curtain a sail cloth is used and for hooks old boat cleats hang bath towels. Again, we love how much white is in this beach home. There's nothing better in our opinion than crisp white interiors with a touch of accent colors inspired by the salt, sand & sea.
Of the many bedrooms in the house almost all of them have a stunning view of the bay. There is nothing like waking up to the sounds of the current coming in and sailboats cruising just outside your window.
