What does the Fabric Grade mean?
Slipcovers can be manufactured from a variety of fabric types. Fabric Grades are way to classify the fabric by price. The lower the Grade 1, Grade A- are less expensive not due to the quality but based on the ease of obtaining the material. Cotton would be less pricey than imported linen. The most popular fabric choice for the slipcovers are cotton, linen and performance fabrics such as Sunbrella, Crypton or Outdura. Denim Cotton Twill, is by far, the most popular fabric choice for slipcovered furniture. The reason being is that denim is a heavy-weight cotton twill making it extremely durable, comfortable and washable. Denim slipcovers are like a pair of your favorite jeans the more you wash them the more comfortable they feel. Denim is available in white, tan, blue, gray and red dye lots. Cotton slipcover fabric is made of 100% cotton is also a very popular fabric for slipcovers. Pre-Washed cotton doesn’t shrink, it is very comfortable to the touch and is easy to clean. We also offer 100% Organic Cotton. Performance fabric like Sunbrella Acrylic fabric is made to withstand outdoor elements has become a top choice for indoors for homes with heavy use. The fabric is both fade and stain resistant while still being soft and comfortable making it a great choice. These are also great for kid & pet-friendly homes. Belgian 100% Linen or Pre-washed Linen blends are the best option when you want that relaxed, yet sophisticated look. Linen slipcovers have a beautiful way of covering the frame effortlessly with a natural, loose flow. Most are user friendly and washable. Stripes & Plaids can be great for a sofa or accent chair. A bold navy stripe is perfect for a nautically designed style while plaids used in slipcovers are most popular for lake houses or houses in the mountains.
Can I use my own fabric?
Yes! Find the seating piece you like and we will let you know the yardage required. This would classify as a COM order. The fabric must ship to us and we will take it from there. Not all fabrics make good slipcovers, so please reach out to the design crew for tips and advice.
Are all your slipcovers washable?
Not all. 100% Cotton is washable at home, tumble dry, place on damp. Sunbrella is washable at home, bleachable and line dry. No heat. All of other fabrics will need professional cleaing.
