From The Galley: Heart Shaped Cookie Recipe

Food DIY: How To Make Heart Shaped Rice Krispie Cookies

 One batch of mix probably made around 20 – 25 cookie

Heart shaped cookie recipe

  You will need  1 box of Rice Krispies  1 Pack of Marshmallows  2 tbsp of butter  1/2 tsp of red food colouring  1 large bar of white chocolate  sprinkles for decoration   Heart shaped cookie cutter

Lets get making!

Step 1: Add your Marshmallows and butter into a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes

Step 2: Remove the bowl, mix well and heat for another minute.

N.b. Your mixture should really be a little fluffier than what is shown here, we blasted a bit to much, LOL!

Step 3: Gradually mix in 3 cups of rice Krispies

Step 4: Mix well until all the moisture has been soaked up. You may find you need to add another 1/2 cup or so of rice krispies if 3 isn’t enough to soak up your mixture.

Step 5: Spread the mixture out on a baking tray and flatten to about an inch thick and leave to cool.

Step 6: Cut out shapes with the heart shaped cookie cutter.

Step 7: Set aside to cool for a little longer -in the meantime move on to step 8.

Step 8: Break your white chocolate up into squares and place in a heatproof bowl. Add water to a pan and boil. Place the bowl on top of the pan and allow the chocolate to melt, taking care not to let it stick.

Step 9: spread the chocolate onto the flat side of the rice krispie hearts.

Step 10: Add your sprinkles and voila, you have heart shaped rice krispie cookies!
