Tis the season for family gatherings. Is your home festive and ready to hold your family comfortably and in style?

The holidays may be filled with cocktail-party guests or hosting friends and family overnight. You need some creative, crafty and clever ideas to make your home perfect for gatherings.

Here are 4 simple tips to get you started.

1. Clear the clutter. When guests fill your home the space suddenly feels much smaller. A start to making the most of your living space would be to de-clutter.  Pack up things that are in the way or taking up too much space and discard unwanted items. Your home will feel much more open and spacious when the clutter is gone. You will be surprised how much more space you have, just in time to fill it up wiht family.

2. Clean House.  Clean the carpets and upholstery for a deep clean feel. Drapes and blinds should be washed, and don’t forget about the bathrooms. This is a great excuse to get some new hand towel to spruce up the bathroom.

3. Guest Ammenities. Make your guests to feel at home. Stock your guest room with essentials like fresh bed linens, blankets and  towels.  Simple extras like bottled water and choclate by the bed  can add an special touch. Make sure there is a basket or a drawer with a few nice toiletries to make your guests to feel welcome and comfortable.

4. Decorative details: Once you get all the cleaning and preparing guest rooms, it’s time for the fun part. Decorating for the holiday to give your home a festive feel. Put out the holiday decorations, lights, trim the tree, bake holiday cookies or treats and give your home holiday cheer.
