Design Tips: Choosing the right coastal chandelier

1. Style. Choose a chandelier to fits with the style and feel of your home. A great beach house deserves a coastal chandelier that is going to give the space the perfect seaside ambiance. Try a seashell chandelier or a coastal driftwood orb chandelier for the perfect beach cottage design.

2. Size. Make sure the coastal lighting you choose fits the space it will be haning in. You don't want something too small or too big for the space. A good rule of thumb to determine the perfect size is to make sure your chandelier is one-half to three-quarters the width of the piece it is hanging over.

3. Hanging height. When installing a chandelier above a dining table it should be about 66 inches from the floor to the underside of the light fixture.

Follow these three rules and don't be afraid to have fun with your coastal style. With so many coastal lighting choices your design is unlimited, you can be classic or whimsical and nautical, the choice is yours.
