Coastal Living Ideas

The Breezy & Bright Room embodies the fleeting feeling of summer. With bright colors mixed with natural tones you're immediately transported to the beach on a beautiful summer day. We knew we wanted a room centered around the Floating White Pelicans Giclee, so we incorporated the colors displayed in the art throughout this breezy living space.

Lets be real, we know you were just staring at the adorable puppy in the first photo. So here's the Breezy & Bright Living Room in all it's glory without any puppy distractions. For the lighting we chose the White Clam Shell Chandelier. This stunner features overlapping lace-like strands of white cut clam shells hang and taper from a simple silver ring, creating a gorgeous pattern that turns casual materials into an elegant chandelier, the perfect compliment to the gorgeous art.

The sofa featured in this living room is the Nantucket Slipcovered Sectional, a relaxed style sofa perfect for beach living as the slipcovers can easily be removed and washed. Scattered across the sofa are the Sea Life Coral Aque Pillows, pulling in the aqua blue/green from the art. This pillows are one of our best selling items, they add a unique touch of sea life to any room. And of course, the perfect, beach style coffee table is our Starlight Solid Coffee Table.

On the right side of this living space we have our Martinique Spindle Chair with our Salomon Pillow. Again, bringing in the tones from the art, the pop of coral is the perfect accessory for making this room bright and fresh. On the side we have our matching Starlight Solid Side Table, this charming side table features an almost solid design with small patterned cutouts and a distressed wood finish giving it a coastal feeling that is perfect for this space.

To the left we have our favorite Fiji Seagrass Swivel Chairs covered in an aqua fabric. For decor placed up on the coffee table our Coral and our homemade Oyster Serving Dish. Lastly our most popular and versatile rug featured here is the Knobby Loop Jute Rug

The Hanging Rattan Chair provides a relaxing beach feel. Inspired by Scandinavian design this chair features bent rattan with a scooped seat perfect for relaxing and reading a book.

Since coastal living is all about unwinding, the seating is slipcovered. This style of furniture is relaxed and unfussy. This large St. Croix Sofa and the Westchester Accent Chairs are meant to be used often, maintained easily, and enjoyed by all. Slipcovered sofas are the perfect staple for every coastal living space.

All pieces in this room are slipcovered in neutral fabrics that can easily be accented in any color like the deep, rich blue in the Ser Mer (koi) Pillows.

All these pieces are anchored by a Bleached-Oak Jute Area Rug which is an all-natural stunner, with a unique hand-braided weave in a sun-washed natural hue to brighten the space.

Upon the rug, is a natural, real Driftwood Coffee Table that is hand crafted to size. All our driftwood pieces are one-of-a kinds crafted by hand per client. Topped with glass, allowing us to showcase the beauty of the driftwood. This is meant to be a focal point and a showcase piece.

The washed out beauty of the Hampton Hall Tables is undeniable.  They are constructed of white poplar, the solid wood turned pedestal base supports a thick top with beveled edges. This is the perfect accent table for a coastal home.

For those finishing touches we have accessorized with a blue lacquer tray, sea urchin and mussel dish - tying in function and flair. To add in natural light and spatial reflection, a chain link mirror was another nautical-inspired accessory. Last but not least, a homage to Florida’s landscape, there’s a pair of Birds of Paradise plants.

On a focal point wall, the East Hampton Mirrored Sideboard is the ultimate statement with it’s four-doors crafted from mirrored glass set behind intricate open scrolled iron latches. Made with reclaimed elm in a distressed gray-white finish. This piece can be used as a breakfront or media console.

Art: White Boat with Red Buoy Giclée by local artist Mary-Louise O’Sullivan. Mary Louise was born in Biltmore Forest located near Asheville, NC and after living in Spain for many years, she eventually settled in Palm Beach, FL. She has an active work studio, producing art for several years- some that are featured at Our Boat House and the island’s galleries.  Her original oil paintings are on Belgian Linen and collected all over the country. She is also a published author for books about wildlife and landscape.
