Coastal Living Ideas

Another week has come and gone and there’s another weekend to enjoy. Even though the heat is still with us here in Florida we have to sadly recognize that summer has come to a close. At OBH we’re embracing fall and all that it has to offer, we can’t wait for the cooler months ahead, a change of pace and the upcoming holiday season. It seems everyone is buzzing with excitement and new energy...happy Saturday friends :)

House plants have become the leading trend in home decor. They can add a pop of color, complete a space by filling a bare corner or add symmetry through framing. Many living spaces and lifestyles, however, aren’t prone to keeping house plants alive and thriving,  that’s why we embrace and love faux plants. This versatile accent piece has come a long way over the years, gone are the days of fake flowers coated in dust and shining under the light. Great quality faux plants will last a lifetime and truly fool your guests into believing you are a plant connoisseur.

In this setting we've used two of our birds of paradise faux plants to draw your eye and expand the depth of the room. As an accent piece on our driftwood coffee table we've placed our faux hydrangeas to add color. These hydrangea stems are incredibly real looking and create some height on this low coffee table.

There's nothing that sets the tone of self-care and tranquility than flowers. Below you can see our hydrangeas placed alongside a bath tub. We've placed them in one of our unique copper planters to add texture, shine and warmth.

Everyone has come to love the tagline "plants make people happy" and we believe that to be true but we also believe that “faux plants make people happy too” :)

As blue and white lovers at Our Boat House we can't get enough of these decorative temple jars. They're the perfect accessory piece that can add a pop of color to truly any setting. These jars can be used in so many different ways. Convert it into a floral vase, a lamp or as an accent piece on your dining table. These temple jars have been around for quite some time. They are definitely here to stay and we couldn't be happier about it.

P.S. we threw in one of our favorite blue and white garden stools just because they pair so well.
