10 Ways: Design A Resort Worthy Coastal Bedroom

Coastal Bedroom Resort Style With Lounge Seating And Drapes

1. Dress Your Windows.

Most hotels and resorts use blackout-lined curtains for the perfect night’s sleep. Dress your windows up with coastal style but make sure you don't block those ocean panoramic views. Fabric panels or curtains can be the design icing on your cake, they can really dress up your bedroom with big coastal impact.

2. Create A Lounge Space.

The master bedroom deserves a coastal lounge area to enjoy. Create your resort style design with an upholstered bench at the foot of your bed or a slipcovered chaise or chairs in the corner to sink into with a good book.

3. Comfy Coastal Bedding.

Fold lush coastal bedding down at the foot of the bed to create a fluffy pop of color. Pair your duvet  or luxurious ticking comforter with coastal white bedding for a clean resort style look. Throw on a few coastal accent pillows to complete the design.

Island Charm Coastal Bedroom

4. Add A Touch Of Island Charm.

Mosquito netting can transform your bedroom into an resort retreat and add a touch of island charm.  Take your coastal bedroom from basic to an island resort in one step. If You're not a fan of netting try incorporating other island elements, like rattan furniture and bright colors.

5. Mirror Mirror On The Wall.

Hang a beautiful coastal mirror over the bed to create an island resort feel and a beach resort design.

6. Driftwood Accents.

Nothing speaks the seaside language quite like driftwood.  A piece of weathered and worn island treasure can give your bedroom that little piece of ocean resort style it was needing.

7. Sea Inspired Lighting.

A large coastal chandelier hanging in the center of your bedroom will add that island resort touch while creating a lighting ambiance that will get you in the island mood.

8. Set The Lighting Mood With This Lighting Tip.

Lighting is the easiest and most effective way to create a resort-worthy atmosphere. Lamplight casts a softer, more inviting glow than harsh overhead lighting. To soften chandeliers and pendants, install dimmers for the perfect amount of light day and night.

9. The Slipcover Life.

A piece of slipcover furniture sends the message of casual coastal retreat. With just one slipcover piece of furniture you can create that laid back relaxing resort feel you get from traveling to an island resort. This Montauk slipcover bed is a great example of casual island design.

10. A Serene Coastal Color Scheme.

Pick a palette that makes you want to unwind. Blues, greens, whites, and neutrals are go-to beach hues for good reason: they’re known to induce relaxation.
